Romanza, co-owned by (Jaz) and Dougall Love, has just completed New Zealand’s Bay of Island Sailing Week which was held from 21-24 January 2020. Below is a summary from Jaz on, by all accounts, a spectacular week.
Romanza, with our race team, just competed in the Bay of Islands Race week, a three day race event held annually in some of the best cruising grounds New Zealand has to offer.
Stunning islands surrounded by beautiful sea in the north of the North Island, with epic game fishing, sailing and walks. Interesting history too for those interested in the Maori life, Maori Wars and the Treaty of Waitangi.
We did better than last year (4th) with a creditable second. Yay!!
Romanza just gets faster the more we race her and the addition of a large A Sail (297sq/m) certainly helps our downwind VMG.

Romanza was quite a star at the event; not only being one of the largest boats but also because of her outstanding lines and her speed. The comments were endless.
