Discover the Rapido Difference

If you’re searching for a performance cruising multihull that combines speed, safety, and independence, you’ve found it.

A Rapido Trimaran is not just another sailboat – it’s the evolution of modern multihull sailing.

Designed by Morrelli & Melvin, world leaders in multihull naval architecture, and built by Triac Composites, specialists in advanced carbon fiber yacht construction, Rapido Trimarans redefines performance cruising.

Each model blends cutting-edge technology with ocean-proven safety, offering the space and stability that turn every voyage into pure freedom.

1. Engineered Without Compromise

Every Rapido Trimaran is built using advanced carbon technology, using similar processes and materials used in the build of aircraft, spacecraft and America’s Cup racing yachts.

This results in a stronger, lighter, and faster multihull that delivers exhilarating performance and bulletproof reliability.

Key advantages:

  • Carbon foam-sandwich hulls for stiffness, strength, and exceptional buoyancy for maximum safety at sea
  • Autoclave-cured pre-preg carbon components (such as the spreaderless wing mast, beams, asymmetric C foils, T foil rudders and struts) which are all designed exclusively for each Rapido model and all are built in-house for total quality control
  • Synthetic rigging for reduced weight and increased lifespan

This is where performance meets engineering excellence.

Rapido's manufacturing arm, Triac Composites, builds all the high tech prepreg items including masts, dagger ("C") foils and T foil rudders, which are cured in the autoclave.

2. Safety You Can Feel is Built Into Every Rapido

For families, couples, and bluewater sailors, safety is non-negotiable – and with Rapido, it’s built into the DNA.

Every model is built to the highest, CE Category A (Ocean) standard. That means Rapidos are designed and built for extended voyages on the world’s oceans where conditions may exceed wind force 8 (over 40 knots) and significant wave heights of over 4 meters.

Safety features that set Rapido apart:

  • Multiple watertight bulkheads in every hull for compartmentalised security. In addition, there are no through fittings below the waterline.
  • Isolated engine and equipment zones
  • Redundant bilge systems that are automatic and portable
  • Multiple escape hatches and survival compartments
  • Electric induction cooking (no LPG or diesel fire risk)
  • Automated fire suppression systems

And then there’s performance safety; the power to outrun and avoid danger. When weather turns foul, Rapido’s speed gives you the independence to reach safe harbour faster.

3. Performance That Inspires Confidence

Rapido Trimarans are born from race-proven design and advanced engineering tools which include CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), FEA (Finite Element Analysis), and VPP (Velocity Prediction Programs) which are described in more detail on Morrelli & Melvin’s Innovation and Technology page.

The result? Maximum efficiency with total control.

This is performance and speed that feels effortless, stable, and secure; not twitchy or tiring. It’s performance that feels reassuring.

Race-proven DNA:

  • Rapido’s designers, Morrelli & Melvin have been involved with multiple successful America’s Cup campaigns
  • Designs that maximise hydrodynamic efficiency of the hull shape, which reduces drag and allows the boat to achieve higher speeds using less energy or sail power
  • Designs that build lightweight to leverage the potential of the hydrodynamic hull shape
  • Optional foiling C-boards and T-foil rudders for lift, stability, and power
  • Optional daggerboards for traditional performance

A Rapido Trimaran doesn’t just sail fast; it glides across the water with control and confidence.

4. Helm & Control

Precision, comfort, and safety at every command.

  • Elevated helm offers all-round visibility under a protective bimini.
  • Wide, ergonomic helm seat ensures single-handed sailing is safe and effortless.
  • Direct Jefa steering delivers precise, reliable control in all conditions.

4. Space and Comfort — Designed for Real Life

Rapido’s brilliance lies not only in its performance, but in its intelligent use of space.

Step aboard a Rapido and you’ll quickly see why so many visitors are taken aback by how spacious it feels — always far more than they expected from photos or videos.

Few have expressed that surprise better than Sailing La Vagabonde, who describe (in the video below) how they felt after seeing a Rapido for the first time:

“While we know that it sails unbelievably well… We want to be able to sail for 99 per cent of the time – and who doesn’t want to sail in light winds with no waves, just gliding? (It’s) good for the family. I knew it was going to sail well. I knew it was beautiful. I knew it was very well made because I’ve got a lot of respect for the boat builders… (But)… the main thing about trimarans is that there’s less room on board than a similar sized catamaran… and so, when I jumped on board (the Rapido for the first time), the only thing I was worried about was the amount of space. I jumped on board, ran around and went, ‘Ohhhhhhhh, this is PERFECTLY fine!’… The forward cabin is massive, with a huge bed. When you’re standing in the saloon, you’re actually standing in a huge room.”

That reaction is almost universal — a moment of genuine surprise that space and performance can coexist so effortlessly.

Lightweight carbon interiors (including carbon drawers!) blend strength and elegance, while wide saloons, panoramic windows, and open decks make every voyage a joy.

Expansive trampolines for sunbathing or play as well as ample storage space (including the floats) complete the picture; every Rapido is not just thrilling to sail, but a true home at sea.

5. Stability and Comfort — For Every Voyage

Unlike monohulls that heel dramatically (often 20–35°), a Rapido Trimaran sails comfortably at just 5–10°. That means more comfort, more confidence, and more smiles at sea.

Less heel means:

  • No sliding plates or spilled drinks
  • Easier movement and cooking
  • Less fatigue on long passages
  • More enjoyment for everyone aboard

It’s the stability of a catamaran with the performance and safety of a trimaran; truly the best of all worlds.

6. Sustainable by Nature

Sailing represents freedom and Rapido enhances that freedom sustainably.

Eco-friendly advantages:

  • Lightweight carbon construction reduces fuel use and emissions at sea
  • Efficient sail plans maximise wind power and minimise fossil fuel reliance
  • Exciting developments in electric and hybrid propulsion options make quiet, emission-free motoring possible on a Rapido. Ask us for details.
  • Long-lasting composites mean less maintenance, less waste, and more time on the water

7. Rapido: Your Ticket to Independence

A Rapido Trimaran offers an independent lifestyle.

For adventurous couples, safety-conscious families, and performance-driven sailors, Rapido offers the freedom to go further, more efficiently and safely with complete confidence.

When you own a Rapido, you’re not following the crowd; You’re sailing beyond it.
