[16 January 2026] Next week marks an important milestone for Rapido Trimarans. Two different Rapido models will enter international regatta competition in the same week, in two very different parts of the world.

From South East Asia to Southern Australia, Rapido trimarans will be racing in established fleets, providing valuable performance data and visibility on the international circuit.

Event: Royal Langkawi International Regatta, Malaysia
Dates: 19–24 January, 2026

The Rapido 40 Racer will make its competitive regatta debut at the Royal Langkawi International Regatta, one of Asia’s best-known multihull events. The owner of Adamas, a Rapido 40 Cruiser in Europe, will helm the Racer, together with his own crew.

The Rapido 40 Racer is designed as a high-performance folding trimaran, prioritising speed, handling and offshore capability within a transportable platform. Langkawi’s mixed conditions of light air, tactical racing and open-water legs provide a relevant and demanding test environment for the design and build.

2. Rapido 50: 2026 Multihull Australian Championships

Event: Multihull Australian Championships / Festival of Sails, Geelong, Australia
Dates: 21–26 January, 2026

At the same time, representing the Rapido 50s, Triballistic will compete in the 2026 Multihull Australian Championships. The Championships will be held as part of Geelong’s long-running Festival of Sails – which has been running since 1844. (The Festival of Sails has been running since 1844 and features Australia’s oldest sporting event, the Melbourne to Geelong Passage Race.)

The Rapido 50, a “Multihull of the Year” winner, was developed to combine offshore comfort with genuine race performance. Competing in a mixed multihull fleet in Australian conditions will highlight the balance the design aims to achieve between cruising capability and competitive speed.

Two Campaigns, One Week

Running two race programs in different hemispheres during the same week reflects the increasingly international nature of the Rapido fleet and owner base. While the platforms differ in size and intent, both campaigns share the same underlying focus: efficient structures, controllable performance, and real-world sailing capability.

Follow the Racing

We’ll be sharing updates, photos, and video from both Langkawi and Geelong throughout the week via our website and social media channels. Also, of course, visit the official websites.
