The Legacy Continues: The Rapido 50’s award-winning design has officially translated into absolute racetrack dominance. In January 2026, Rapido 50 Hull #02, Triballistic (skippered by Ian Holten), completely swept the 2026 Australian Multihull Championships at the Festival of Sails in Geelong, Victoria.
Delivering a masterclass in offshore performance and consistency, the crew secured a monumental clean sweep across the fleet:
- 1st Place – Expanded Handicap Class (EHC)
- 1st Place – Offshore Multihull Rule (OMR)
- Line Honours
Proof positive that the 2022 Multihull of the Year remains the ultimate pinnacle of offshore speed, balance, and control.
The all-carbon Rapido 50 has been voted Multihull of the Year by Multihulls World magazine in the highly competitive 45′-55′ category. The prestigious announcement was made during the La Grande Motte Multihull Show in France on 20 April 2022.
A Landslide Victory for the Folding Trimaran
This premium result underscores the global impact of the Rapido platform. The award organizers noted that the Rapido 50 didn’t just win—it dominated the voting booth by an extraordinary margin, defying a highly competitive field of multihulls with distinct personalities.
The organizers stated that:
“Victory for this fast and folding trimaran built in Vietnam, came as a real surprise in a category which included models with very distinct personalities. While all the other competitors obtained very similar results, ranging from 17 to 20% of the votes, the Rapido took almost 27% of the votes.”
