Rapido 60, Romanza, raced in the Auckland to Tauranga Yacht Race in New Zealand on 26 March 2022 and took Line Honours in a commanding performance.

Romanza completed the course in 12.19.44 (see the official results page here).

Second place was another 6.5 hours at 19.46.31.

After the race, Dougall Love (co owner of Romanza) commented:

“(The race was) good fun. A lot of changes from fast downwind to no wind, to too much wind, to upwind and finally, to the finish. But we sailed her well and kept her trucking along. Top speed 23.8kts this time and some very fast tight reaching.

“Romanza really is a remarkable design to be able to compete as she does and still be a very luxurious cruising boat.”
