Rapido 63, A Much Wider Nacelle than on the 60, by Dick Sawyer, Multihulls World magazine, 1 August 2025.

The Rapido 53XS has been a real success, having shown that yes, it is possible to widen the upper part of a trimaran’s central hull without irreparably compromising its performance potential.
In fact, although this new 63, which is directly derived from the 60, has a central hull that is just over a meter (3 feet) longer, it is mainly the nacelle (saloon) that has been enlarged, with an extra 1½ meters (5 feet) of width compared to the Rapido 60. It should be noted that the modified 60 used by the crew of Sailing La Vagabonde had already benefited from an extra 50 cm (18”).
This feat has been achieved by combining a very pronounced chine in the hull topsides with a new deck layout incorporating a much wider coachroof.
Thanks to carefully managed “excess weight”, the 63 should be almost as fast as the 60. “We even believe that the 63 will be as fast, if not faster than, the 60 due to the increase in waterline”, predicts Paul Koch of Rapido Trimarans.

Inside, there is a spacious living area that can be configured to create two additional double or single berths using clever drop-down tables – perfect for hosting extra guests. This is in addition to the dedicated forward and aft cabins, each with its own private head.
The finishes are customizable, including wood veneers and cushion colors, allowing owners to tailor the design to suit their preferences.
