Australia’s Royal Princes Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) in Sydney, together with The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) are inviting competitors to participate in what they are calling, the race of a lifetime, the Sydney to Auckland Yacht Race.
The Category 1 Ocean will commence on 30 January 2021 from Sydney Harbour. It will conclude in Auckland Harbour and become part of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron’s 150th Anniversary which will include none other than the the 36th America’s Cup.
The Race is open to a number of different categories of boats including Rapido Trimarans which is offering a number of incentives to prospective buyers to help make it possible.
The website continues that the “program in Auckland 2021 will be diverse; yachts from around the world will gather including a fleet of J Class yachts, Superyachts, international classics fleet as well as the Prada Cup series and America’s Cup Match. There will no doubt be a party atmosphere as the country comes out to celebrate a famous club and the world’s most renowned yachting competition”.
